  • 2 cups cooked chicken shredded
  • 1 cup cheddar cheese shredded
  • 1 cup cream cheese softened
  • 8 pieces flour tortillas small size
  • 2 tablespoons jalapeños chopped, optional
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon cumin
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil for brushing

Instructions

Preparation Steps

  • Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  • In a large bowl, mix together the shredded chicken, cheddar cheese, cream cheese, jalapeños, garlic powder, onion powder, cumin, salt, and pepper until well combined.
  • Place a tortilla on a flat surface and spread a heaping tablespoon of the chicken mixture down the center of the tortilla.
  • Roll the tortilla tightly around the filling, squeezing to compact filling, and place seam side down on a baking sheet. Repeat with remaining tortillas and filling.
  • Brush the rolled taquitos lightly with olive oil.
  • Bake for 15-20 minutes or until the taquitos are golden brown and crispy.
  • Serve hot with salsa or guacamole.

Notes

For an extra crispy texture, you can fry the taquitos instead of baking them.
