  • 6 whole apples such as Granny Smith or Fuji
  • 1 cup packaged caramels unwrapped
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 1 cup chopped nuts optional, for garnish
  • 6 sticks popsicle sticks or wooden skewers

Preparation Steps

  • Wash and thoroughly dry the apples. Insert a stick into the stem end of each apple.
  • In a small saucepan, combine caramels and water over low heat. Stir until the caramels are completely melted.
  • Dip each apple into the warm caramel, using a spoon to help coat each apple if needed.
  • Roll coated apples in chopped nuts if desired, and place on parchment paper to set.
  • Allow apples to cool completely before serving.

Notes

You can substitute nuts with candy sprinkles or chocolate chips for a different variation.
