Ingredients
 

  • 4 slices of bread your choice of type
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 4 slices cooked bacon
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh chives for garnish optional

Instructions

  • In a skillet over medium heat, melt the butter until it begins to sizzle.
  • Crack the eggs into the skillet, season with salt and pepper, and cook to your desired level of doneness.
  • While the eggs are cooking, place a slice of bread on a flat surface. Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese evenly over the bread.
  • Once the eggs are cooked, place them on top of the cheese-covered bread slices.
  • Lay a slice of cooked bacon on each egg-covered slice of bread.
  • Top each sandwich with another slice of bread.
  • Carefully transfer the sandwiches to the skillet and cook until the bread is golden brown, and the cheese is melted, about 2-3 minutes per side.
  • If necessary, press the sandwiches down with a spatula to ensure even cooking.
  • Remove the Breakfast Grilled Cheese from the skillet and let them rest for a minute.
  • Optionally, garnish with fresh chives.
