  • 1 box yellow cake mix plus ingredients listed on the box
  • 3 cups milk used for pudding
  • 2 packages instant banana pudding mix 3.4 oz each
  • 4 bananas ripe bananas sliced
  • 1 tub whipped topping thawed, 8 oz
  • 1 cup vanilla wafers crushed
  • 0.5 tsp vanilla extract optional

Instructions

Preparation Steps

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Prepare the cake mix according to the package instructions and bake in a 9x13 inch pan.
  • While the cake is baking, whisk together the pudding mixes and milk in a large bowl until thick.
  • Once the cake has finished baking, remove from the oven and let cool for 10 minutes. Poke holes all over the cake using the handle of a wooden spoon.
  • Pour the banana pudding over the cake, spreading it evenly over the top and making sure the pudding fills the holes.
  • Top with slices of banana, then spread the whipped topping over the entire cake.
  • Sprinkle the crushed vanilla wafers over the top, and refrigerate for at least 2 hours before serving.

Notes

This dessert can be made a day in advance for even more flavor.
