Preparation Steps
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9x13 inch baking pan.
In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
In a large bowl, cream the butter and sugar together until light and fluffy. Add the eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
Mix in the mashed bananas, sour cream, and vanilla extract until well combined.
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the banana mixture, stirring until just combined.
Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread it evenly using a spatula.
Bake for 45 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
