Instructions
Preparation Steps
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
In a large bowl, whip egg whites with cream of tartar and salt until soft peaks form.
Gradually add sugar while continuing to whip, until stiff peaks form.
Gently fold in the sifted cake flour and vanilla extract.
Pour mixture into an ungreased angel food cake pan.
Bake for 40 minutes or until the top is golden brown and the cake springs back when touched.
Invert the pan to cool completely before removing the cake.
Notes
Make sure egg whites are at room temperature for optimal volume. Serve with fresh berries and whipped cream for an extra treat.
