Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 4 pcs pork chops about 1-inch thick
  • 2 tbsp olive oil extra virgin
  • 1 tsp salt or to taste
  • 0.5 tsp black pepper freshly ground
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp dried thyme
  • 2 Granny Smith apples cored and sliced
  • 0.5 cup apple cider or apple juice
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 1 tbsp fresh parsley chopped, for garnish

Instructions

Preparation Steps

  • Season the pork chops with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and dried thyme on both sides.
  • In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the pork chops and sear for about 4 minutes on each side until golden brown. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
  • In the same skillet, add sliced apples and sauté for 2-3 minutes until slightly softened.
  • Pour in the apple cider and bring to a simmer, scraping up any brown bits from the bottom of the pan.
  • Return the pork chops to the skillet, reduce the heat to low, and simmer for 10-15 minutes until cooked through and the sauce has thickened slightly.
  • Stir in butter to enrich the sauce and add a glossy finish.
  • Garnish with fresh chopped parsley before serving.

Notes

For a complete meal, serve these pork chops with mashed potatoes or steamed vegetables.
