  • 6 pieces bell peppers any color
  • 1 pound ground beef lean
  • 1 cup cooked rice white or brown
  • 1 can tomato sauce 15 oz
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 cup shredded cheese optional, for topping

Instructions

Preparation Steps

  • Cut the tops off the bell peppers and remove the seeds.
  • In a large bowl, combine ground beef, cooked rice, tomato sauce, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix well.
  • Stuff each pepper with the meat mixture and place in the crock pot.
  • Cook on low for 4 hours or until peppers are tender.
  • Optional: Top with shredded cheese during the last 15 minutes of cooking.

Notes

For a vegetarian version, substitute ground beef with black beans or lentils.
