Kitchen: American, Italian-inspired
Prep Time: 10 minutes
Cook Time: 15 minutes
Total Time: 25 minutes
Servings: 4

Ingredients

  • 1.5 lbs large shrimp peeled and deveined
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/3 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley for garnish
  • Optional: Crusty bread rice, or pasta for serving

Instructions

  • Prepare the Shrimp: Pat the shrimp dry with paper towels. Season lightly with salt, black pepper, and paprika.
  • Cook the Shrimp: Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the shrimp and cook for 1-2 minutes on each side, or until they turn pink and are cooked through. Remove the shrimp from the skillet and set aside.
  • Sauté Garlic: In the same skillet, reduce the heat to medium and melt the butter. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute, or until fragrant.
  • Make the Sauce: Stir in the heavy cream, Parmesan cheese, and Italian seasoning. Simmer for 2-3 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sauce thickens slightly. Taste and adjust seasoning with salt and pepper if needed.
  • Combine: Return the cooked shrimp to the skillet and toss to coat them in the creamy garlic sauce. Heat through for 1-2 minutes.
  • Garnish and Serve: Sprinkle with chopped fresh parsley and serve immediately. Pair with crusty bread, steamed rice, or pasta to soak up the delicious sauce.
