Ingredients

  • 1 loaf of French bread or Texas toast bread slices
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried parsley
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Fresh parsley chopped (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  • Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it.
  • Prepare the Garlic Butter: In a small bowl, mix together the softened butter, minced garlic, garlic powder, dried parsley, dried oregano, dried basil, and salt until well combined.
  • Prepare the Bread: If using a loaf of French bread, slice it into 1-inch thick slices. If using Texas toast bread slices, proceed to the next step.
  • Spread the Butter: Spread a generous amount of the garlic butter mixture onto one side of each bread slice, ensuring the butter reaches the edges.
  • Add the Cheese: Sprinkle a generous amount of shredded mozzarella, shredded cheddar, and grated Parmesan cheese on top of the buttered side of each bread slice.
  • Bake: Place the prepared bread slices on the lined baking sheet in a single layer. Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly, and the edges of the bread are golden brown.
  • Broil (Optional): For an extra crispy top, you can turn on the broiler for the last 1-2 minutes of baking. Keep a close eye on the bread to prevent burning.
  • Garnish and Serve: Remove the cheesy Texas toast from the oven and sprinkle with fresh chopped parsley if desired. Serve warm.
