  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 ½ cups 0.75 lbs shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup 0.5 lbs whole milk
  • 1 large egg
  • cup 0.15 lbs unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon dried parsley or 1 tablespoon fresh, chopped
  • For the Garlic Butter Topping:
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter melted
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon dried parsley

Instructions

  • Preheat Oven:
  • Set oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x5-inch loaf pan or line with parchment paper.
  • Mix Dry Ingredients:
  • In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, sugar, garlic powder, and salt.
  • Add Cheese:
  • Fold in the shredded cheddar cheese so it’s evenly coated in the flour mixture.

  • Pour batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top.
  • Bake for 40–45 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean and the top is golden.
  • Add the Garlic Butter Topping:
  • While the bread bakes or right after removing it from the oven, mix together the melted butter, garlic powder, and parsley.
  • Brush the top of the warm bread with the garlic butter.
  • Cool & Serve:
  • Let cool in the pan for 10–15 minutes, then slice and serve warm.
