  • 15.25 oz chocolate cake mix 1 standard box
  • 3.9 oz instant chocolate pudding mix 1 package
  • 1.5 cup milk
  • 1.5 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 12 oz caramel sauce store-bought or homemade
  • 1 cup pecans chopped
  • 0.5 cup butter melted
  • 2 oz whipped cream optional, for serving

Instructions

Preparation Steps

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large bowl, combine the chocolate cake mix and the instant pudding mix.
  • Stir in the milk until the mixture is smooth and well combined.
  • Pour the batter into a greased 9x13 inch baking dish.
  • Evenly sprinkle the chocolate chips over the top of the batter.
  • Drizzle the caramel sauce over the chocolate chips.
  • Sprinkle the chopped pecans evenly over the top.
  • Drizzle the melted butter over the entire dish.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 40-45 minutes, or until the cake is set and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  • Let the cake cool for at least 10 minutes before serving. Serve topped with whipped cream if desired.

Notes

This dump cake is best served warm, with or without a scoop of vanilla ice cream!
