Ingredients

  • 1-2 lbs ribeye or sirloin steak or your preferred cut
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon Cajun seasoning store-bought or homemade
  • For the Cajun Butter Sauce:
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter 1 stick
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 2 tablespoons bourbon
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Cajun seasoning
  • Fresh parsley chopped (for garnish, optional)

Instructions

  • Prepare the Steak:
  • Season the Steak: Pat the steak dry with paper towels. Rub both sides with olive oil, then season generously with salt, black pepper, and Cajun seasoning.
  • Heat the Pan: In a large skillet or cast-iron pan, heat over medium-high heat until hot. Add the steak and sear for 4-5 minutes on one side, until a nice crust forms.
  • Flip and Cook: Flip the steak and cook for another 4-5 minutes for medium-rare (adjust time based on thickness and desired doneness).
  • Remove and Rest: Remove the steak from the pan and let it rest for 5-10 minutes while you prepare the Cajun butter sauce.
  • Prepare the Cajun Butter Sauce:
  • Make the Sauce: In the same skillet, reduce the heat to medium. Add the unsalted butter and let it melt. Stir in the minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  • Add Bourbon and Seasoning: Carefully add the bourbon and Worcestershire sauce, then sprinkle in the Cajun seasoning. Cook for an additional 1-2 minutes, stirring to combine and allowing the alcohol to cook off slightly.
  • Serve:
  • Slice the Steak: Slice the rested steak against the grain and place it on a serving platter.
  • Drizzle with Sauce: Pour the Cajun butter sauce over the sliced steak and garnish with fresh parsley if desired.
