Preparation Steps
Combine calamari rings with buttermilk in a medium bowl. Let sit for 5 minutes.
In another bowl, mix flour and 1 teaspoon salt. Dredge each calamari ring in the flour.
Mix breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, lemon zest, and remaining salt in another bowl. Coat each calamari ring.
Preheat the air fryer to 400°F. Place calamari in the air fryer basket in a single layer.
Cook for 8 minutes or until golden brown and crispy. Serve immediately with lemon wedges.
Notes
For extra flavor, consider adding a hint of cayenne pepper to the breadcrumb mixture.
