How to Make Delicious Pizza Sliders at Home

Ingredients

For the Sliders:

  • Slider buns: 12 – use soft dinner rolls or any small-sized buns, sliced in half horizontally.
  • Marinara sauce: 1 cup – for the pizza base flavor.
  • Mozzarella cheese: 2 cups, shredded – for cheesy goodness.
  • Pepperoni slices: 1 cup – or substitute with your preferred pizza toppings like cooked sausage, mushrooms, bell peppers, etc.
  • Italian seasoning: 1 tablespoon – adds a herby pizza flavor.
  • Butter: 1/4 cup, melted – for brushing the buns.
  • Garlic powder: 1 teaspoon – mixes with the butter for flavor.

Optional Toppings:

  • Black olives, sliced
  • Onions, thinly sliced
  • Green bell peppers, thinly sliced
  • Mushrooms, thinly sliced

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven:
    • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a baking dish large enough to fit all the slider buns snugly.
  2. Prepare the Slider Buns:
    • Slice the slider buns in half horizontally, keeping the top and bottom halves separate. Place the bottom half of the buns in the prepared baking dish.
  3. Assemble the Sliders:
    • Spread a thin layer of marinara sauce over the bottom half of the buns.
    • Sprinkle half of the shredded mozzarella cheese over the sauce.
    • Add a layer of pepperoni slices and any other toppings you desire.
    • Sprinkle the remaining mozzarella cheese on top of the toppings.
    • Place the top half of the slider buns on top.
  4. Add the Finishing Touches:
    • In a small bowl, mix the melted butter with garlic powder and Italian seasoning. Brush this mixture over the top of the slider buns, ensuring all are evenly coated.
    • Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil.
  5. Bake:
    • Bake the sliders in the preheated oven for about 15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
    • Remove the foil and bake for an additional 5 minutes to slightly crisp the tops of the buns.
  6. Serve:
    • Let the sliders cool for a few minutes before serving. Slice along the bun separations to create individual sliders.
    • Serve warm and enjoy the melty, pizza-flavored goodness.
