The Secret to Perfectly Grilled Brown Sugar Pineapple the Secret to Perfectly Grilled Brown Sugar Pineapple

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 fresh pineapple, peeled, cored, and cut into rings or spears
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon (optional)
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Pineapple:
    • If you haven’t done so already, peel, core, and slice the pineapple into rings or spears, depending on your preference.
  2. Marinate (Optional):
    • In a small bowl, combine the brown sugar and cinnamon. If using, you can also mix in the melted butter to create a paste.
    • Coat the pineapple slices or spears with the brown sugar mixture. Let them marinate for about 15-30 minutes to enhance the flavors.
  3. Preheat the Grill:
    • Preheat your grill to medium-high heat. Ensure the grates are clean and lightly oiled to prevent sticking.
  4. Grill the Pineapple:
    • Place the pineapple slices or spears on the grill. Cook for about 3-4 minutes per side, or until you see nice grill marks and the sugar begins to caramelize.
  5. Serve:
    • Remove the grilled pineapple from the grill and serve it warm. It’s delicious on its own or paired with ice cream, whipped cream, or even a drizzle of honey or caramel sauce.
