Bacon, cooked and crumbled: 100g (0.22 lb) – adds a smoky, crunchy texture.
Jalapeños, diced (optional): To taste – for those who enjoy a spicy kick.
For Serving:
Buns: 8 – hamburger buns or any type of sandwich bun you prefer.
Additional toppings: Such as extra shredded cheddar, more crumbled bacon, sliced jalapeños, or ranch dressing for an extra flavor boost.
Instructions
Prepare the Chicken:
Place the chicken breasts in the bottom of the crockpot. Top with cubes of cream cheese and sprinkle the ranch seasoning mix evenly over the top.
Cook:
Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 4 hours, until the chicken is very tender.
Shred and Mix:
Once cooked, shred the chicken directly in the crockpot using two forks. Stir in the shredded cheddar cheese, crumbled bacon, and diced jalapeños (if using) until everything is well combined and the cheese has melted. If the mixture is too thick, you can thin it with a little milk or chicken broth until it reaches your desired consistency.
Assemble the Sandwiches:
Spoon the crack chicken mixture onto the buns. If desired, top with additional cheese, bacon, jalapeños, or a drizzle of ranch dressing.
Serve:
Serve the sandwiches hot, accompanied by your choice of side dishes like fries, salad, or coleslaw.
