Butter Swim Biscuits: A Classic Southern

Ingredients

Scale

For the Biscuits:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/2 cups buttermilk
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C) and grease a baking dish.
  2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt until well combined.
  3. Pour in the buttermilk, stirring just until the dry ingredients are moistened. The batter will be lumpy, and that’s okay.
  4. Pour the melted butter into the greased baking dish.
  5. Spoon the biscuit batter over the melted butter in the baking dish, distributing it evenly.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until the biscuits are golden brown and cooked through.
  7. Allow the Butter Swim Biscuits to cool slightly before serving.
  8. Serve these delightful biscuits warm, savoring the buttery goodness that sets them apart, providing a unique and indulgent experience.
